Roberto Mancini to replace Julen Lopetegui at West Ham United after recent development

Julen Lopetegui is already under immense pressure at the London Stadium as West Ham continue to falter in the Premier League.

The Hammers have only recorded eight points from their first eight Premier League matches of the campaign, winning just two, drawing two and losing four.

While those losses have come against Aston Villa, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham, the new manager is still feeling the pressure and water is beginning to rise around his ankles.

It is understood that, even if the Irons are to lose to Manchester United on Sunday 27 October, Lopetegui will likely remain in his role at the London Stadium [Sami Mobkel], but that could be about to change.

According to Fabrizio Romano [24 October], the Saudi Arabia national team have reached a mutual agreement with Roberto Mancini to terminate his contract.

West Ham United to appoint Roberto Mancini after previous interest?

Mancini, who famously won the Premier League with Manchester City in the 2011/12 season, was being eyed up by the Hammers to replace David Moyes in April 2023 [Calcio Mercato Web].

Of course, a move for the Italian never came to fruition, with Lopetegui eventually chosen to replace Moyes at the helm in the summer, but the Hammers have been given a second chance to hire him.

One of the biggest worries about sacking a manager is the struggle of finding someone to replace them but that may no longer be a concern if Lopetegui is handed his notice at the London Stadium soon.

It may seem a little premature to sack the new manager, but with a plethora of talented players added to the squad, the season has been extremely disappointing for the fanbase so far.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are leading the race to sign a winger from abroad, with the price tag already set.
