Nuno’s mood may shift at West Ham once he views controversial Man City call
West Ham secured a big three points as they beat Fulham 1-0 on Thursday.
However, the Hammers remain in the bottom three due to Nottingham Forest’s 2-2 draw against Manchester City.
Goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson secured a point at the Etihad for the Garibaldi, who remain above Nuno Espirito Santo’s side on goal difference.
Though many associated with Manchester City feel aggrieved due to a penalty not being awarded as Erling Haaland was brought down by Matz Sels, with Pep Guardiola’s side leading 2-1 with under 20 minutes to go.
Guardiola and multiple City players have since given their thoughts on the incident, and West Ham will be far from pleased, with the incident being made out to be a blatant penalty.
Manchester City fume at penalty decision – it carries relegation implications
With City leading with just over 15 minutes of the 90 remaining, Haaland was slipped through by Rayan Cherki, before he fell to the floor inside the box after taking the ball around the onrushing Sels.
While Guardiola has looked to keep the focus on the efforts of his side, he suggested that the officials can’t be relied upon.
“It’s our responsibility to do better,” he said. “If you have to rely on them with what happened this season, it’s impossible.”
Midfielder Bernardo Silva, though, has been much more outspoken about the incident.
“All 50/50s have gone against us this season. It’s the reality,” the Portugal midfielder told TNT Sports.
“For me it was a penalty. Some might have a different opinion. What can Erling do? As I said, we’re used to it. We know how it works.”
Just 10 minutes after the incident, Anderson would equalise with a fantastic long-range effort, keeping Forest above West Ham on goal difference.

Nuno will feel aggrieved by Manchester City incident
The Hammers did everything they could at Craven Cottage, with Crysencio Summerville’s second-half goal sealing a 1-0 win in West London.
However, the draw for Vitor Pereira’s Nottingham Forest could have huge implications on the ongoing relegation battle, with the Garibaldi remaining outside the bottom three for now.

Since arriving at the club following the sacking of Sean Dyche, Pereira is yet to pick up his first Premier League win after losses against Liverpool and Brighton.
But confidence will no doubt be sky high after picking up a point at the Etihad.
Not only have West Ham been denied the chance to boost morale outside the bottom three, but their rivals secured a huge boost away at one of the title contenders.
To make matters worse, Manchester City are adamant that they should have had the chance to all but seal the deal late on from the spot.
West Ham welcome City to the London Stadium next time out in the league, while Forest host Fulham following their Europa League clash with Midtjylland.
