Nuno Espirito Santo knows exactly what to do as major West Ham injury update drops

Crysencio Summerville is in contention for West Ham’s game against Liverpool on Sunday after recovering from his injury.

The winger had been out with a calf strain, which saw him miss West Ham’s 2-2 draw against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Now, according to The Standard on 24 November, the former Leeds United attacker is set to return to training this week.

This is no doubt a needed boost for Nuno Espirito Santo ahead of the Liverpool match at the London Stadium, and now the manager should look to bring him straight back into the lineup.

Crysencio Summerville needs to start for West Ham vs Liverpool

Since Nuno has become the West Ham manager, one of his best players at the London Stadium has been Summerville.

The winger has put in some excellent displays under the Portuguese manager already, and his absence against the Cherries on the weekend was no doubt a loss.

Realistically, a man of Summerville’s quality could be the difference between West Ham’s survival and relegation, therefore, Nuno needs to ensure that he plays whenever he can.

Up against a Liverpool side low on confidence and who are shipping goals, the winger could have a field day.

Therefore, if fit, there is no reason why Nuno should not send Summerville straight into the starting XI on Sunday.

How good has Summerville been this season?

Since coming back from his long-term injury, Summerville has been fantastic.

According to Fotmob on 24 November, the winger has excelled at dribbling and winning fouls for the Hammers, while also doing his part defensively.

Crysencio Summerville’s Premier League stats this season Per 90 minutes
Passing accuracy 87.7%
Successful dribbles 1.67
Fouls won 2.09
Tackles 1.40

Summerville has decent stats so far this season

Nuno will need a player of his quality if the Hammers are to move away from the drop zone.

Hopefully, Summerville can pick up where he left off when he is back on the pitch and continue to make a positive impact.
