Nuno Espirito Santo already at risk of sack as daunting West Ham stat emerges
Nuno Espirito Santo may have only arrived in September, but he’s already walking on thin ice at West Ham.
West Ham travel to face Man United on Thursday, with hopes of returning to the form that saw them go three games unbeaten before suffering a defeat against Liverpool.
The Irons are on the brink of the relegation zone, above Leeds United only because of goals scored, and six points behind Fulham in 15th.
West Ham are at serious risk of relegation, and the latest reveal at the London Stadium showcases the main reason behind that.

West Ham’s away form is horrendous
The Hammers are 13th in the table when it comes to away fixtures; on the face of it, that doesn’t seem too bad.
However, they’ve won just once on the road, and the majority of those games have been under the stewardship of Nuno.
The Hammers are winless in their last five away games, all of which have been managed by Nuno, and the last time they won away from home was ironically against his former Nottingham Forest side, when he was still in charge.
Avram Grant was the last West Ham manager to fail to win any of his first five away games in the Premier League, and that is not a comparison that will spark too much optimism.

Grant was in charge of the Hammers for 47 games, averaging just 1.2 points per game, and while that may be better than either of the Irons’ last two managers, it showcases what could be down the line.
Nuno’s search for first away win could enter 2026
Man United are not the same team that they used to be, but they are still heavy favourites to take all three points on Thursday night.
After that, the Hammers travel to face Brighton, with their last away encounter of the year being against Man City on 20 December.
Taking current form into account, it’s difficult to see West Ham picking up a win in any of those encounters, meaning Nuno would finish the year without an away win.
If this form continues, there is every chance that Nuno could be sacked, and that decision may accelerate if teams around them start to find form of their own.
