Newcastle want to be West Ham United with multiple embarrassing transfer reports

Newcastle seemingly want to be West Ham United with their relentless interest in Hammers targets as they look to hijack a deal.

David Moyes will be keen to improve his squad over the summer after the Irons made a brilliant account of themselves on all fronts in the 2021/22 campaign.

Several glaringly obvious weaknesses in the squad presented themselves throughout the campaign which ultimately saw the east Londoners fall short of Champions League football or a trophy.

The London Stadium outfit has been linked with a host of players ahead of the 2022/23 campaign and based on their failures in previous windows, they must act fast and get their deals over the line ahead of their rivals.

This is even more prevalent when considering Newcastle United and their embarrassing pursuit of several Hammers targets.

All the Gear but no idea.

The Toon have made a move to “hijack” West Ham’s seemingly imminent signing of Europa League hero Alphonse Areola, according to a report by RMCSport [14 June].

Another report from the Daily Star [15 June] said that Nayef Aguerd is set to undergo a medical with the Irons but is undecided in terms of which Premier League club to join amid late St James’ Park interest.

Claret & Hugh [16 June] further this report by saying the deal has hit a bump in the road with the defenders’ agents trying to renegotiate a better deal due to the late rumours.

According to a report by The Mirror [15 June], Newcastle are interested in signing James Ward-Prowse – a player that Moyes will be desperate to sign to strengthen his midfield that faces a hell of a lot of uncertainty ahead of next season.

As expected during the transfer window, there have been countless other rumours of players linked with the Irons and Eddie Howe’s side always seem to be lurking in the shadows.

They have money but it seems as if they don’t know what to do with it as they continuously copy Moyes’ side, it is now getting beyond embarrassing.
