Manchester United stoop to new low with new appointment of senior figure after West Ham sack
Manchester United looks set to announce the appointment of Kyle Macaulay after his West Ham exit.
Macaulay left West Ham alongside Graham Potter in September as the Hammers moved to bring in Nuno Espirito Santo.
Potter was sacked by West Ham after a shocking start to the season in East London and an underwhelming transfer window.
The Hammers have since begun a search as West Ham look for a Macaulay replacement to lead them forward at the London Stadium.
Macaulay is now preparing to start a new journey at Manchester United as the Red Devils look to lower their standards even further than they have in recent years.

Kyle Macaulay appointment is shocking for Manchester United
Macaulay replaced Tim Steidten at West Ham after the German was eventually let go after some shocking transfer business.
His experimental transfer policy didn’t pay off, and the majority of his additions have gone on to be hugely frustrating in E20.
The likes of Niclas Fullkrug, Luis Guilherme and Jean Clair Todibo have been the most frustrating, and it was right that he was let go.

Macaulay was the next in line to replace Steidten, but he obviously didn’t replace David Sullivan and Co. with his short stint in the role.
The fact that he was let go at the same time as Potter speaks volumes about his qualities, but he appears to have landed on his feet.
David Ornstein reported on 25 November that Man United have appointed the Scot as their new head of senior scouting.
He was well-respected in his time at Brighton, so he may well succeed at Old Trafford, but it is baffling that a football giant like the Red Devils would swoop for a West Ham flop.
Who did Kyle Macaulay sign at West Ham?
Manchester United must see something in the 39-year-old to appoint him for such a senior role after his London Stadium departure.
The Irons faithful may not look back on his spell in recruitment favourably, although the jury is still out on a fair few of his signings.
- Evan Ferguson (loan)
- Callum Wilson
- Kyle Walker-Peters
- Mads Hermansen
- Mateus Fernandes
- Soungotou Magassa
- El Hadji Malick Diouf
- Igor Julio
Ferguson was certainly a failed loanee, while Hermansen has really struggled in between the sticks and is yet to feature under Nuno.
The other six signings that he may have had a say on could still go either way, with Diouf and Fernandes in particular looking like useful signings so far.
This proves that Macaulay may not have the worst record, but it is still baffling that Man United would go after him, considering West Ham showed no intent to keep him after Potter’s exit.
