Mads Hermansen will be furious as West Ham make enquiry for Championship goalkeeper

The signing of Mads Hermansen was seen as a coup for West Ham earlier this summer. However, the Danish goalkeeper has endured a horrific start.

West Ham were beaten 3-2 by Wolves on Tuesday night as they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup at Molineux.

The defeat marked their third in a row after losing their opening two Premier League games, with Hermansen conceding a whopping 11 goals.

So, with Graham Potter placed under immense pressure and the transfer window soon closing, the Englishman could reinforce his goalkeeper slot.

West Ham make enquiry for Hull City’s Ivor Pandur

Hermansen is the lowest-rated Premier League player after two matches, and although he was a shining light for Leicester City last term, his performances have been worrying.

The 25-year-old will hope to improve in the coming weeks, or he could risk losing his place in the starting lineup.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, the Hammers have made an enquiry for highly-rated Hull City goalkeeper Ivor Pandur.

44 appearances
80% accurate passes
1.6 goals prevented
2.8 saves per game
1/6 penalties saved
6 clean sheets

Potter reportedly sees the talented Croatian as a potential option to challenge Alphonse Areola and Hermansen between the posts.

Pandur has attracted the interest of several English and Italian clubs after being largely responsible for keeping Hull in the Championship last term.

Some of his reflex saves were outstanding, and as a result, the 25-year-old won all three awards at the Tigers end-of-season ceremony, including the supporters, managers and fans Player of the Year.

With Hull going through peril financially and under some pressure to sell their assets, Pandur could be next on the chopping block and that could worry Hermansen.

After their humiliation at the hands of Chelsea, Potter could ruthlessly drop Hermansen for Areola to take his new goalkeeper out of the limelight.

That will only accentuate the lack of faith he has in his current goalkeepers and may prompt them to push to sign Pandur.

Of course, with West Ham sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table, multiple positions need improving, and arguably, a goalkeeper isn’t the priority after signing Hermansen.

However, since the Hammers are expected to concede a lot of goals this season, Pandur could be the safe pair of hands they require for the long-term.
