Gini Wijnaldum would be masterstroke signing for West Ham United

West Ham and Everton are both keeping close tabs on Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Gini Wijnaldum, and the Hammers must look to bring him to the club this summer.

According to a report from 90 Min (24 June), PSG would prefer to sell Wijnaldum on a permanent basis. However, the Dutch international still has two more years left on his present deal, and a loan move away from the club looks likely.

Clubs in Italy, Germany and Spain are interested in the former Premier League winner, while Wolves are also keeping tabs.

PSG are ready to allow him to go this summer, and the Hammers must beat the Toffees and other clubs for his signature.

The 31-year-old moved to PSG on a three-year deal last summer after enjoying rich success at Liverpool, but he soon found out that the grass is not greener on the other side.

A player of his quality, It’s really disappointing to see that a player of his quality struggled for regular games last season.

West Ham need to bolster their midfield after Mark Noble has retired.

Wijnaldum would be a perfect fit. He has got loads of experience and is a leader in the dressing room.

The Dutchman is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder or a conventional box-to-box player, and is a great engine in midfield.

He can chip in with crucial goals – his two goals in the semi-finals at Anfield against Barcelona to knock them out in the Champions League comes to mind.

If Moyes can sign him on a loan deal, it would be a transfer masterstroke. He would add tremendous depth and quality to the squad, and at the same time, will be hungry to prove himself after a disappointing season in France.
