Gianluca Scamacca now worth more than double what West Ham United sold him for
Gianluca Scamacca is now worth more than double what West Ham United sold him for, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The report on page 12, 26 April suggests that the Atalanta striker is now valued at £51.4million (€60m) after a strong first season with La Dea.
Scamacca joined the Serie A side from West Ham for just £21.5m (€25m) last summer – a move the Hammers may now be regretting.
West Ham United never saw this Gianluca Scamacca
Scamacca has rediscovered his form in Bergamo after a difficult spell in London, failing to establish himself as a first-team regular at the London Stadium under David Moyes and playing just 928 Premier League minutes in 2022/23.
The Italian did score eight times in 1,342 minutes across all competitions, though only three came in the league, with the other five netted in the Europa Conference League.
He has been trusted far more at Atalanta, though fitness issues have limited him to just 1,811 minutes across all competitions.
His attacking output, however, has certainly not been limited, with 15 goals and five assists in all competitions to match – a phenomenal rate of production.

Should Scamacca continue to perform at this rate next season while adding to his game-time, his value could soar even higher.
Given West Ham’s own search for a striker to take the mantle from 34-year-old Michail Antonio, they may wish they had held onto their Italian star for at least another season.
