David Sullivan strikes again at West Ham amid new Nuno Espirito Santo wage demand reveal
Nuno Espirito Santo has been lined up as a possible replacement for Graham Potter should he be sacked by West Ham, but that appointment may now be off the cards.
Potter has come under increasing pressure at West Ham following the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, with uncertainty growing.
The Irons currently boast the worst defensive record in the league, with 13 goals conceded, and face two tough fixtures against Everton and Arsenal.
Supporters believe that Nuno would improve West Ham, but the Hammers hierarchy have hurdles to get over if they want to appoint the Portuguese manager.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s wage demands could block West Ham appointment
Nuno is joined by former West Ham favourite Slaven Bilic in the shortlist of managerial candidates.
David Sullivan appears to be eyeing cheap managerial options, with all of the coaches linked with the role currently out of work.
The Hammers seem to be targeting experienced Premier League managers in case they sack Potter, with Sean Dyche notably linked with West Ham.
- West Ham’s last three managerial appointments have been out of work
- Graham Potter was appointed after he was sacked by Chelsea
- Julen Lopetegui had been sacked by Wolves
- David Moyes had previously managed Sunderland
Hopes of the Hammers landing Nuno have been given a hit, as The Sun report that the Portuguese boss’s wage demands could be out of reach for West Ham, on top of compensation for Potter and his coaching staff.
The Hammers usually insert a break clause in managers’ contracts, which allows them to part ways for less compensation after 18 months.
However, Potter has only been in East London for nine months, and the chances of him remaining for double that period look slim.

David Sullivan strikes again for West Ham
Sullivan’s unwillingness to admit defeat and sack Potter won’t help get supporters back on side.
Supporters lined the streets before West Ham’s game against Crystal Palace in protest of the Hammers’ hierarchy.
Demonstrations will likely increase after the defeat, especially as they appear unwilling to pay off Potter.
The Irons have two tough fixtures against Everton and Arsenal coming up, and should they lose both games, fans will expect Potter to be sacked.
Sullivan has already shown that he is going down the cheap route by targeting managerial candidates who are out of a job.
Therefore, fans will want the businessman to go all out for the best man for the job.
Yet again, though, money comes first, and it seems as though Sullivan is not willing to dig into his pockets to hire the best option out there.
