David Sullivan must fix Julen Lopetegui mistake at West Ham now as Edin Terzic twist emerges
David Sullivan must act quickly if he does not want to miss out on hiring Edin Terzic as Julen Lopetegui continues to struggle at West Ham United.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma have held talks with Terzic over becoming their new head coach after sacking Ivan Juric on Sunday, 10 November.
The newspaper reported via its website on Tuesday (12 November) that the German-Croatian tactician could take the reins at the club, although an agreement over the contract length and objectives is yet to be found.
David Sullivan must act now to replace Julen Lopetegui with Edin Terzic at West Ham United
It was Sullivan’s decision to bring in Lopetegui to replace David Moyes in the summer despite Tim Steidten and Mark Noble preferring Ruben Amorim (talkSPORT).
The move has clearly backfired as West Ham find themselves sitting fourteenth in the table with 12 points from 11 games.
Sullivan has a chance to rectify his mistake by hiring Terzic, who has been mooted as a replacement for Lopetegui and is prioritising a move to England after leaving Borussia Dortmund in the summer (Sami Mokbel).
Terzic’s preference to take a job in the Premier League means that the Irons have a high chance of acquiring his services, but the longer they wait, the lesser the chances become.

Sullivan is seemingly reluctant to pull the plug on Lopetegui as the Spaniard would need to be paid compensation.
However, the Hammers owner faces the prospect of facing backlash from the fans if things do not improve under Lopetegui, especially with a manager like Terzic available.
In other West Ham news, Lopetegui expects to remain in charge as he has identified this Premier League defender as a target for the Irons ahead of January.
