David Moyes on his last warning at West Ham United, losing Conor Coventry would be third strike
West Ham have produced some great young talent from their academy in recent seasons, but David Moyes has failed to integrate them into his first team.
Moyes finds himself under huge pressure in east London after spending big in the summer and subsequently underperforming in the Premier League.
The Hammers sit 16th and summer stars Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca have both struggled to fit into the side domestically.

But there’s another reason why Moyes is facing the sack at the London Stadium – his sheer ignorance towards young talent coming through.
That sounds harsh considering Moyes gave an abundance of youngsters a chance to shine in West Ham’s final Europa Conference League game, but it means nothing if he then lets the club’s most exciting prospects leave on the cheap.
Sonny Perkins swapped the Hammers for Leeds United in the summer, and Harrison Ashby seems set to follow him out the exit according to Claret & Hugh.
With two of the club’s most exciting young players already downing tools, Moyes cannot afford to lose a third academy gem – yet it seems inevitable to happen with 22-year-old Conor Coventry.

Coventry has been forced to stay patient for a first-team spot with West Ham after three loan spells, but Moyes is still hesitant to give him a run in the side.
Coventry’s West Ham contract expires next year as reported by Claret & Hugh, and if he’s unhappy with his game time at West Ham then he won’t be short of suitors willing to play him regularly.
But it’ll be another huge blow for West Ham and a third academy gem in the matter of months who have quit West Ham.
The club can’t afford to gain the reputation of killing young potential yet Moyes is trying his best to do just that. Losing Coventry would be his third strike and that only means one thing – the sack.
