David Moyes now walks a tightrope at London Stadium as West Ham United sack update emerges
David Moyes is now walking an incredibly tightrope at West Ham United as an update emerged regarding a potential sack decision at the London Stadium in the coming days.
Reliable Hammers journalists Claret and Hugh, posting on their official website (7 November) shared that the West Ham boss will not be sacked should they suffer their sixth consecutive defeat in a row against Nottingham Forest on Sunday (12 November).
A key source has revealed that the Scotsman will “still be in position” if the club suffers defeat against Forest because it’s not an “easy game”.

It added that the Irons need “two wins” this week as the pressure is building on the 60-year-old ahead of the Europa League fixture against Olympiacos on Thursday (9 November).
Saturday’s defeat against Brentford was their third consecutive Premier League defeat, a result which now leaves the Hammers languishing in the bottom half of the table and without a win in the league since 30 September against Sheffield United.
There certainly won’t be any rash decisions made by the West Ham hierarchy as they will be willing to give Moyes time to turn things around after the success he’s had at the club in recent months.
But, again, another worrying trend is emerging at the London Stadium after their domestic troubles last campaign which had Moyes’ position at the Hammers called into question.

Too many of Moyes’ key stars are underperforming under his watch again and it is certainly hurting the long-term view in East London but more crucially, it’s affecting their aspirations to build on their Europa Conference League victory in June.
Michail Antonio, Tomas Soucek and Nayef Aguerd have all been guilty of underperformance so far this campaign with the Irons heavily reliant on Jarrod Bowen to bail them out of trouble.
Moyes will be the first one to recognise that the results haven’t been good enough and will be desperate to get his side back on track, as he has successfully achieved previously in similar moments.
The Scot’s success has ramped up the expectation levels at the London Stadium, though, and the board will be keen to ensure that the progress made over the past few years doesn’t stall.
However, there still remains a dilemma regarding Moyes’ current tactical deficiencies and whether it is sustainable for future success at the London Stadium.

West Ham United fans certainly want to see exciting attacking football as well as results, something Moyes has struggled with for much of his time at the club.
Given the attacking talent at his disposal, there is no doubt, that this team should be progressing further right now but it doesn’t look like happening considering their recent form.
Ideally, the Hammers should be beating Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest on home turf and failure to do so could well force Tim Steidten and the West Ham United board into a swift decision regarding Moyes’ future.
It may seem unfair given Moyes’ success but a necessary one of the club’s long-term aspirations.
