David Moyes and Tim Steidten on high alert to make Jarrod Bowen contract decision at West Ham United as Liverpool transfer news emerges
Liverpool continue to monitor West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah which could force David Moyes and Tim Steidten to act fast on his new contract.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT on 24 September, former Eurosport journalist Dean Jones believes that the Reds will continue to monitor the England international and has suggested that Bowen could look at Rice’s instant success at Arsenal and consider a big-money move too.
The Athletic reported on 11 September that Liverpool are admirers of Bowen and see him as the perfect Salah replacement should he leave Anfield in the near future.

Jones claimed: “I think it makes sense that Bowen signs a new contract at West Ham. I don’t think it would come as a surprise to Liverpool if he does that.
“There’s going to come a time when Bowen will have options to leave West Ham and I think you’ll consider it as well.
“It’s not that he will want to leave, but he’ll see for example, what’s happened to Declan Rice and the rise in profile that he’s just had since leaving West Ham.
“I think that Liverpool will continue monitoring Bowen, as they’ve admired him for quite a while and knowing that the Salah exit probably isn’t too far away, now they should still be looking at it.”
It’s never an easy feeling for any fan when such a statement or news emerges on such a key and pivotal performer at a football club and West Ham potentially losing Bowen could be even worse than when they lost Rice to Arsenal.
Liverpool’s interest in the Englishman and his reported desire to seek pastures new if the opportunity arises are perfectly understandable and after his European success last season, he’ll be desperate for a chance at the elite level very soon.
This has earned him shouts of a potential move to Liverpool if their star man makes the switch to Saudi Arabia either in January or next summer, and Bowen’s goalscoring performance at Anfield on Sunday [24 September] will have done no harm to his reputation in Liverpool.

But right now, West Ham United have elite ambitions of their own and Bowen is absolutely central to those plans and it’s why the Hammers are making Bowen’s long-term future at the London Stadium a high priority, according to The Athletic journalist Roshane Thomas (25 September).
The Athletic journalist wrote on 25 September that the Englishman’s performance at Anfield will provide another reminder as to why his future is so important to all at West Ham, and why the ongoing talks are an increasingly key issue for Moyes and Steidten.
After fighting tooth and nail to keep Lucas Paqueta at the London Stadium, the Hammers will want to follow that success up by keeping arguably their most prized asset in Bowen.
It will send a worrying message to some of Europe’s elite if they were to fold and sanction a possible exit but West Ham United can certainly show some strength and ambition by tying him down to a new long-term deal.
It’s an absolute must.
In other West Ham news, the East Londoners may well have found their next Declan Rice in one burgeoning Belgian talent, an ambitious bid could be on the cards in January.
