Danny Ings finally done at West Ham United as transfer update drops

Danny Ings could finally be set for an exit from West Ham United in January.

The three-cap England international has never managed to hit his best level since joining the Hammers from Aston Villa in the winter of 2023.

During his spell at the club, Michail Antonio has been favoured up front while Jarrod Bowen was utilised in the number nine role under Julen Lopetegui.

With Graham Potter now in charge, a new striker could be on the way before the end of the winter window, which could spell the end for the 32-year-old.

Danny Ings could exit West Ham after latest January transfer update

The Hammers have been without Niclas Fullkrug for many weeks of the campaign and could lose him again after he pulled up at Villa Park on Friday (10 January).

This could see a new forward be targeted before the 3 February deadline, with “concrete interest” registered for Marseille striker Ely Wahi [L’Equipe].

The 22-year-old could move to the London Stadium in the winter after being subject to summer interest from Tim Steidten and Co. [Fabrice Hawkins].

If the Irons were to utilise these links and complete the signing, the France Under-21s international would likely take up the squad role currently occupied by Ings.

This could potentially see Potter show the ex-Liverpool forward the door in East London, with a view to improving his squad during his first month in charge.

It would be a bold move for the English head coach, but to bring Wahi in from Ligue 1 to replace the 32-year-old would be exciting for supporters, that is for sure.
