Carlos Soler ‘West Ham future determined’ as transfer approach made

West Ham are said to have made an approach to sign Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli and it may have provided a telling insight into the future of Carlos Soler.

Soler has had a mxied campaign at the London Stadium with questions over the possibility of him making his stay a permanent one [Daily Mail].

However, after it was reported that the Irons made an approach to sign Fagioli [Tutto Mercato], they may have other future plans in place.

Whether the Italian would be seen as a long-term replacement for Soler or not is yet to be seen but it certainly raises the question as the deadline approaches on 3 February.

West Ham need permanent deal for Soler, regardless of Fagioli

Soler has certainly improved for the Hammers as the season has gone on and his ability to play across various different roles has proven invaluable for Graham Potter so far.

Although his performances haven’t always remained consistent, his pedigree is obvious and there is all likelihood that a permanent switch would allow him to unlock that ability far more frequently.

With Fagioli, although they tend to occupy the same or at least similar positions, it can’t be allowed to change their stance on Soler if a deal is to happen.

West Ham need depth and quality to come in and out of the team, something which has been lacking for the majority of the season and the singing of one player shouldn’t be allowed to prevent the same for another.

The Hammers will undoubtedly be looking to utilise the remainder of the transfer window with just days remaining to conclude their business.
