Alex Scott could be the face of West Ham United’s summer squad revival as £20m update emerges
West Ham target Alex Scott could be the face of the Hammers’ huge squad rebuild this summer, as Bristol City reportedly demand £20m to sell the midfielder.
The 19-year-old is considered one of the rising stars in English football and has impressed with his performances for the Championship outfit this season, registering five assists from 31 league outings.
The English wonderkid has been linked with a Premier League move in recent weeks, with West Ham and Crystal Palace both reportedly [The Sun, 18 February] battling it out for his talented services.

And according to the Sun [18 February], the Championship club have slapped a £20million price tag on the 19-year-old, with neither of the two English top-flight sides going close to their valuation for Scott’s services.
However, with the Hammers most certainly set to undergo a huge rebuild this summer, with the likes of Declan Rice, Angelo Ogbonna, Michail Antonio, Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal all facing uncertain futures at the London Stadium, the club could be well stocked in the bank to totally revamp their rather ageing squad.
The midfield rebuild is a huge priority with the club well prepared to lose Declan Rice, who is understood to have given his word to Arsenal over a big-money summer transfer.
The club will certainly be on the lookout for potential replacements and considering the lack of quality and youthful exuberance in the Hammers midfield, signing Scott makes a lot of sense as he could well prove the face and key ingredient of a significant rebuild.

Scott has the ability to play several roles in midfield and has been praised for his unique ability on the ball, silky technical attributes and quick feet, with five assists so far this season.
£20m for a player of his potential and current class represents an absolute bargain, and a deal the Hammers simply can’t afford to miss out on.
With Bristol City currently sitting 15th in the Championship, a move away looks to be on the cards if a significant bid is received by the club.
However, the Hammers are currently steeped in a relegation battle of their own sitting down in the bottom three, and providing Moyes gets them out of this mess in the coming weeks, a hugely vital and crucial summer is expected as the club looks to reclaim their position in the Premier League’s top eight next season.
