Aaron Cresswell set for West Ham United 2025 farewell as replacement already approached
Aaron Cresswell looks set to leave West Ham at the end of next season once his new contract extension expires, with the club having already found a replacement.
The 34-year-old has put agreed on a one-year extension, as per Roshane Thomas, seeing him stay with the Hammers until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
While Cresswell could be offered another extension due to his experience and loyalty to West Ham, his time at the club looks to be ticking down after the latest transfer update.
According to the Daily Mirror [28 May], the Irons have already made enquiries about Gent prospect Archie Brown, with the Belgian club setting a £17million price tag ahead of the summer transfer window.
With Emerson Palmieri the first-choice left-back at the London Stadium, Julen Lopetegui already looks to be making some changes after taking over from David Moyes, and Cresswell will likely be axed.
West Ham United set to replace Aaron Cresswell with Archie Brown
Cresswell has had a limited impact for the Hammers this season, starting just four Premier League matches and making just five more in the Europa League as they crashed out in the quarter-final.
Having been at the club since 2014, the full-back has amassed 349 appearances in total, scoring 11 goals across all competitions, which has seen him attain cult legend status.
Despite this, time is certainly ticking down on his West Ham career at the age of 34, and being replaced by a 22-year-old will just be the first sign that his exit is looming next summer.

Lopetegui will be hoping for a smooth transition into the club, with the contract extension making perfect sense, keeping some loud voices and wise heads in the dressing room for a season full of change.
He has proven he still has a lot to offer on the pitch, which will be important for the Irons for the 2024/25 campaign, but it is only a matter of time until he is pushed out of the club.
In other West Ham news, the club have tabled a £9.7million offer for an “unbelievable” attacker.
