Youssef En-Nesyri not eager to leave Sevilla as West Ham United ready bid

Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri is not overly keen to leave the La Liga side despite interest from West Ham United, according to Marca.

The Moroccan international was a star at the World Cup as his nation reached the semi-finals and that has seen interest in him spike in the January transfer window.

The Irons are among the clubs most keen on signing the 25-year-old this month although they will have to spend a big amount of money to prize him away from the Spanish side.

West Ham

Even if they do pay what Sevilla want for his services, Marca believe that En-Nesyri is not overly keen on leaving the club unless a big club come in for him.

The definition of a “big club” is not explained in the report but David Moyes will hope West Ham count having praised him during the World Cup.

“In Youssef En-Nesyri they (Morocco) have a centre forward who is an incredible good runner and gives them an outlet,” he said as he previewed all eight teams left in the competition,” he said to The Times.

Too much

With a transfer fee likely to be north of £20million to sign En-Nesyri this window, West Ham should really be avoiding this move right now and try to put their faith in Gianluca Scamacca and his teammates to start firing.

There have not been enough goals this season at the London Stadium and the strikers aren’t wholly to blame for that with chances not being created with the same fluidity as previous seasons under Moyes.

West Ham

The answer to the problems is not necessarily throwing cash at someone who had a half-decent World Cup even if Nayef Aguerd gives him a glowing reference as his Morocco teammate.

Fingers should be pointed at the players in behind the main striker and why have they not been able to contribute enough in the final third.

Maybe a loan deal could work and give Scamacca the kick up the rear he may need to find his best form but given his not-outstanding record in front of goal, he isn’t worth breaking the bank for.
