West Ham boss David Moyes has shared an update on the fitness of Nayef Aguerd and Alphonse Areola ahead of the game with Wolves.

The Irons make the trip to Molineux on Saturday (6 April) looking to snap a four-game winless run in the Premier League.

Regular starter Areola has been nursing a groin injury and looks set to miss out once again against Wolves, while Aguerd is also still doubtful.

"[Areola] has got a tweak to his groin. We hope it's not going to be too long, but we'll have to wait and see," Moyes told reporters on Friday (5 April), as per the club's official website.

"We're playing a lot of games, so we have to look after all our players. We're monitoring Nayef. We'll keep working with him and see if he's ready to be available."

In more positive team news, Moyes confirmed Edson Alvarez looks set to start after returning from a ban.

West Ham likely line-up v Wolves

Being without first-choice goalkeeper Areola is not ideal, of course, but Lukasz Fabianski is one of the better back-up goalkeepers in the Premier League.

If Aguerd does not pass a fitness test, meanwhile, then Moyes will almost certainly stick with a back four of Vladimir Coufal, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Kurt Zouma - who was superb against Tottenham - and Emerson.

Edson Alvarez has impressed since arriving at West Ham

With Alvarez now back available, the Mexico international is set to slot in alongside Tomas Soucek in holding midfield against Wolves.

That should then see Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus provide support for Michail Antonio, although the Jamaica international did have a shocker against Spurs.

Moyes has options available to him and this seems like a nice fixture on the face of it to return to winning ways in the league before the Bayer Leverkusen showdown in Europe.
