Wolves to blow West Ham United out of water in £20m race to sign Alex Scott from Bristol City

Wolves are ready to submit a new £20million bid for Bristol City’s Alex Scott, as they look to edge past Tottenham and West Ham in the race for the highly-rated youngster, according to The Telegraph.

The 19-year-old is considered one of the rising stars in English football and has impressed with his performances for the Championship outfit this season, registering five assists from 34 league outings.

The English wonderkid has been heavily linked with a Premier League move over the past month, with The Sun revealing on 18 February that West Ham and Crystal Palace were both reportedly battling it out for his signature.

And now, according to The Telegraph [9 March] it seems that Wolves have joined the race and the Midlands outfit are preparing a £20m bid for the midfielder.

Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui is said to be a huge admirer of the teenager, but will reportedly face a battle with the Hammers and Tottenham Hotspur.

Get him in

Considering the stark potential and current ability of the 19-year-old, West Ham cannot allow Scott to join Wolves at their expense as it may set a bad precedent down the line when trying to secure some of the gifted young talents in the country.

Scott is a burgeoning young talent and certainly one of the brightest young midfielders around, and imagine the excitement and camaraderie if the Hammers sign him ahead of their rivals.

West Ham

The Hammers are set to undergo a huge rebuild for next season, with the likes of Declan Rice, Michail Antonio and a number of their experienced heads set to leave. The club will do well in securing young talents for the future and Scott is certainly one of them.

The teenager possesses the ability to play several roles in midfield and has constantly been praised for his unique ability on the ball, silky technical attributes and quick feet, as he showed in Bristol City’s FA Cup tie with Manchester City recently.

This is a deal the Hammers must make a priority this summer. They must jump in front of the queue for Scott’s signature, especially with rivals Wolves lurking.
