Wolves make formal offer to sign West Ham United defender Craig Dawson
Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a formal offer to sign West Ham defender Craig Dawson, as reported by Sky Sports.
Writing on their transfer blog (30 August, 14:20 pm), Sky Sports reported that Dawson wants a return to the Midlands to be closer to his family.
Another Premier League club have also made an offer, and it could be Aston Villa, who are also keen on the 32-year-old, as reported by Sky Sports (transfer live blog, 16:12 pm).

Complicated
This is really a complicated issue, and David Moyes may have to let him go.
If it is due to footballing reasons, then there’s no way Dawson could be allowed to go. Like old wine, he is getting better with age.
Last season, he was one of the best performers at the club. He was a constant presence at the back and shielded the team when the likes of Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna both got injured.

However, the situation has changed. He is likely to drop down the pecking order behind new signings Thilo Kehrer and Nayef Aguerd. Plus there is Kurt Zouma, and Ogbonna is still around.
Ideally, Moyes would love to keep him at the club, but he wants to stay close to his family, which could be a major factor in deciding on his next club.
At the same time, he could be eyeing a long-term contract as well, considering his age.
