Winner named in West Ham United, Newcastle and Manchester United race to sign Leicester City ace Harvey Barnes

A winner has reportedly been named in the West Ham United, Newcastle and Manchester United race to sign Leicester City ace Harvey Barnes.

According to the Northern Echo [12 July], the deal is expected to be completed by the start of next week with Newcastle winning the race.

It’s understood that the deal will be an initial £35million along with £5million in add-ons which will take it to £40million.

Expected

West Ham have been playing a waiting game all summer as they looked to get the funds from Declan Rice’s sale to Arsenal.

He’s understood to be completing all the formalities before joining permanently and the delay has seen the Hammers miss out on Barnes.

There’s no guarantee that Barnes would’ve preferred moving to London Stadium as Newcastle will offer him Champions League football.

However, they could’ve at least done their best to convince the Englishman of the project at the London Stadium.

With Rice leaving, David Moyes could’ve promised the attacker that he would’ve been front and centre of the rebuild post the Conference League triumph.

However, now they will have to look at other options while one of their Premier League rivals have secured their target.

In other West Ham news, an injury expert has claimed that Moyes’ physical demands could see another star player seek a London Stadium exit this summer.
