William Saliba could return for Arsenal for West Ham United Premier League clash – Sky Sports News

West Ham have been dealt a blow ahead of their Premier League clash with Arsenal as William Saliba could make a return to action, say Sky Sports News.

Saliba hasn’t featured for the league leaders since prior to the international break through injury, and was expected to be missing for the next game too (16 April).

But according to Sky, while it’s unlikely that the France international will return for the game at the London Stadium it is “not impossible” that he recovers in time to feature against David Moyes’ side.

Blow

Saliba has been one of the stand out defenders in the Premier League this season and is a huge reason as to why Arsenal are where they are in the league.

While West Ham’s main priority has to be not to lose the game against Arsenal, if they want to win then it would certainly help the likes of Michail Antonio, Danny Ings and Jarrod Bowen to be coming up against Rob Holding instead of him.

West Ham

We saw Holding make errors against Liverpool, including giving away a penalty, and it shows that they can be got at with him in the side.

It’s still a positive that even if Saliba does recover he is unlikely to be completely 100% fit, but his presence and quality alone will make it far more difficult to get a result if he is on the pitch.

Not much is going for West Ham this season, and a relegation battle is very much on the cards. Defeat to Arsenal drags us right back into the mix and into trouble, so any small advantage we can get will be a major boost.

They are already expected to be without Takehiro Tomiyasu, Mohammed Elneny and Eddie Nketiah for the game.
