Wilfried Zaha blown away by ‘Amazing’ West Ham star Michail Antonio
Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha has been blown away by West Ham United forward Michail Antonio this season in the Premier League.
The lone senior striker at the club has been struggling for fitness but has really played his part in helping the Irons qualify for the Europa League.
Zaha insisted that the way Antonio has bounced back from his injury problems to hit doubles figures has been an “amazing” achievement.
Speaking in an interview with Fantasy Premier League, Zaha went for an outside shout as one of his strikers of the season.
“I’m going to go for something different, Michail Antonio has been amazing,” he said.
“He’s a bit under-the-radar, but what he’s been able to do, especially coming back from injury, and it just goes to show what hard work does really.”
Consistency.
Despite struggling to string together a handful of fixtures at the London Stadium this season, Antonio has still managed to catch the eye.
In 24 starts and two substitute appearances, the 31-year-old still managed to hit 10 goals and delivered five assists in the Premier League.
David Moyes took a huge gamble by not replacing Sebastien Haller when he left for Ajax, but it definitely played off with Antonio and Jesse Lingard at their best.
Antonio much use this summer to recover fully and get rid of these small injuries, so that he can come back firing in the Premier League and also in Europe.
The best times are yet to come for the experienced forward, and his power could be a real weapon for the Irons next season.
