WHZ View: Three things to look out for as West Ham host West Brom
West Ham play host again on Tuesday night as former boss Sam Allardyce and West Bromwich Albion make their way to the London Stadium.
The Hammers defeated Burnley 1-0 on Saturday and are looking to make it four wins in a row in the Premier League.
As for our visitors, they will be full of confidence ahead of this clash, coming off a 3-2 win in the Black Country derby against Wolves at the weekend.
With that in mind, West Ham Zone has listed three things to keep your eyes on in tonight’s encounter.
- Bowen to break Baggies duck?
Jarrod Bowen has been a fantastic addition to David Moyes squad. The winger has taken to the Premier League seamlessly, starting sixteen times thus far in 2020/21.
Despite facing them on numerous occasions in the Championship, Bowen has never scored against West Brom. Whilst looking lively, he’s now gone eight games without a goal.
He’ll be looking to rectify this tonight against the league’s worst defence.
2. Declan Rice adding more to his game
Rice has now played every minute of our last 56 Premier League matches, an astonishing achievement for a player just turned 22.
The skipper is growing in confidence all the time, and even took over free-kick duties against Burnley, firing one slightly over the Clarets’ goal.
He’s another who wants to add goals to his game, so don’t be surprised if you see him shoot from distance this evening.
3. Best Hammers defence in years – almost
West Ham have look assured at the back under Moyes this season, and are looking to make it four Premier League clean sheets in a row.
They haven’t achieved this feat since 2014, managed by who you ask? You guessed it, Big Sam.
The Baggies boss will be keen to cause an upset, along with the recently acquired Robert Snodgrass who’s useful on set pieces as we know.
In other West Ham news, we’re one of six clubs after this Manchester United and England international.
