WHZ View: Rangers reject West Ham bids for Kai Kennedy, Hammers must continue pursuit

West Ham recently saw their third bid for Rangers youngster Kai Kennedy turned down, according to The 4th Official.

The Hammers are looking to sign an attacker this summer and have identified the Rangers youngster as a transfer target.

Per The Athletic, West Ham previously had multiple bids rejected for the 19-year-old, and now it appears that their recent bid of £1million was also turned down by the Scottish giants.

Pursuit must continue

We can still sign the player, even though he has recently completed a loan move to Dunfermline.

Should he join us, we’ll possibly loan him out anyway, so him getting first-team minutes at the Scottish club will be ideal for his development.

At 19, Kennedy is already proven himself to be a quality talent who in a couple of years, could be a regular starter in the Premier League.

A couple of years ago, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard lauded the player, labelling him a ‘fabulous little player.’ [Daily Record]

We’ve got established first-team players at the club already who are capable of playing a number of attacking positions, so he could benefit from training with them and learning the ropes.

Kennedy signed a new deal in January that runs out in 2023, but his future at the Ibrox is far from settled at the moment.

We reportedly know at what price Rangers will be selling the player, so that puts us at a distinct advantage.

There’s a good chance we’ve thoroughly scouted the youngster in Scotland, and he looks to be someone who could be a first-team player in the coming years.

He’s not likely to be too expensive either, so even if he doesn’t live up to the high billing, we could make decent money off his sale.
