West Ham’s relegation chances revealed in supercomputer prediction after Man United draw

West Ham did their chances of surviving relegation no harm with a 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

Soungoutou Magassa’s late equaliser sent the away end into delirium after Diogo Dalot put the hosts ahead in the first half.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men were great value for a point, with their attacking threat unsurprisingly led by Jarrod Bowen, who wowed Slaven Bilic with his electric display at Old Trafford.

A point against Man United leaves West Ham inside the relegation places by two points after Leeds United beat Chelsea 3-1 on Wednesday.

West Ham predicted for relegation despite Man United draw

Relegation would be a disastrous campaign for the Hammers, as it would result in them losing most of their key players.

As it stands, only two of the spots in the bottom three are available, as Wolves are marooned at the bottom of the table on two points.

According to Opta’s Supercomputer, West Ham have been tipped to finish 18th in the Premier League with a 45.93 per cent chance of being relegated.

Encouragingly, West Ham have shown signs of improvement in recent matches, producing a solid performance against Liverpool despite a 2-0 loss and continuing that trend at Old Trafford.

Nuno Espirito Santo may have found stability

For most of the 2025/26 campaign, supporters have been made to watch a horror show, seeing the defence crumble before their eyes.

The Irons have conceded 28 goals in the Premier League this term – the joint-second most of any team – and that is why they’re threatened by relegation.

But ever since Nuno dropped Max Kilman against Liverpool, West Ham have steadied the ship defensively, and may have established a strong partnership.

Konstantinos Mavropanos and Jean-Clair Todibo were excellent against Man United, with the duo heading and clearing everything that came their way.

A consistent defensive partnership is ultimately key, and if Nuno can also address the lack of firepower in January, then West Ham will surely finish above the bottom three come May.
