West Ham winger Andriy Yarmolenko details dramatic fallout with former Ukraine teammate
Despite everything going on in his homeland right now, Andriy Yarmolenko has still emerged as a surprise hero for West Ham in recent weeks.
Vital goals against Aston Villa and Sevilla have helped the Hammers keep their European hopes and dreams within reach but not all is well with the Ukrainian.
As reported by Zorya Londonsk on Twitter, Yarmolenko had an expletive-filled argument with former international teammate Anatoliy Tymoschcuk over his silence on Russia’s invasion of his homeland.

“I asked him how do you sleep at night. He replied ‘I don’t sleep’,” Yarmolenko said.
“Then he called me. I told him you used to be a role model for me, now you’re nothing. Then he told me to [swear] off & I told him the same and that’s that.”
Tymoschcuk has been criticised majorly as he is still contracted to Russian club Zenit St Petersburg as their assistant manager while fellow Ukrainian Yaroslav Ratitskiy has asked to be released.
Rally around
These last two months have been a torturous time for Yarmolenko and Ukrainian people all over the world and we all need to find a way to do something to help.
It might only be small gestures but given the situation they find themselves in, they will take anything they can get their hands on.

In terms of Tymoschcuk, we have to hope that he can see some kind of sense and pronto because having a leading light of Ukrainian football not say a word about the atrocities occurring on home soil is abominable.
Yarmolenko is absolutely right to have called out his previously long-term friend for his radio silence on the matter while still receiving a paycheck from the very same country that is destroying his own.
He might only be an impact substitute at the London Stadium but after everything he has been through both on and off the pitch, to come up with two crucial goals late into the season could have catapulted him into player of the season contention.
