West Ham willing to accept big loss on sale of Felipe Anderson

West Ham plan to sell Felipe Anderson as soon as he returns from his loan spell at Porto, according to Record.

Anderson has never really been part of David Moyes’ plans after missing out on several games at the end of last season, before being shipped out to Portugal.

And he has not had a successful stint in Liga Nos, starting just one league games this term.

The Hammers are reportedly keen to let him go, and hope to recover just a small part of the £36million they spent on him [BBC], so are willing to accept a big loss on the 28-year-old.

Getting rid of deadwood

Anderson has shown his class at times at the London Stadium but he was definitely not worth the huge outlay we spent on him.

West Ham have moved on considerably since his departure too, strengthening the attacking midfield positions with additions like Said Benrahma and Jesse Lingard.

Pablo Fornals has come into his own since the Brazilian left too, and that trio differ from Anderson in the sense that they work hard for the team.

That is probably one of the reasons why Moyes did not warm to the midfielder when he came back to the club.

Anderson made just two starts under the Scot before he decided he had seen enough, and he was subsequently allowed to leave last summer.

He is clearly not a fan of the winger, and reportedly believes his work ethic is not up to the standards required to be a West Ham player [The Sun].

We hope Anderson completes a permanent move this year, as although the fee we get may be minimal we will be able to get his likely hefty salary off the wage bill.
