West Ham want to sign Jannik Vestergaard this summer
West Ham United want to sign Southampton defender Jannik Vestergaard this summer, according to Mike McGrath.
The Irons are still looking for another defender before the end of August, with a move for Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma collapsing.
David Moyes is still also in the hunt for Fiorentina enforcer Nikola Milenkovic, who is the number one target.

McGrath is usually close to the pulse on these things for the Guardian and has shared the major update on his personal Twitter account.
“West Ham consider Southampton’s Jannik Vestergaard as they look for centre-back this summer,” he wrote.
“Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenković No1 choice, Kurt Zouma did not progress.”
Get it done.
We are less than two weeks away from the Premier League getting underway and no reinforcements have arrived.
Vestergaard has previously been linked with the London Stadium, with the Scandanavian mooted for a loan switch last September.
The Danish international has been described as a “monster” in the past, and he could be a real threat in both boxes for the Moyes.
Moyes could tempt Vestergaard with European football, with Southampton losing some of their best players such as Danny Ings this week.
Ralph Hassenhuttl didn’t seem confident regarding his transfer plans this summer, and it could be about to get even worst for the Austrian.
We need to move quick, but expect Milenkovic to come first – that one could now progress over the weekend.
