West Ham want to sign Honduras striker Alberth Elis
West Ham United are pursuing a deal to sign Honduras international striker Alberth Elis from Portuguese club Boavista this summer, according to Foot Mercato.
The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Ligue 1 side Bordeaux and is enjoying a super season in France, scoring nine goals in 16 appearances.
He is under contract at Boavista until 2024 but the Hammers are one of three teams who are keeping a close eye on his situation.

Foot Mercato report that both Fiorentina of the Serie A and Wolfsburg of the Bundesliga are contesting to sign the Honduran at this moment.
They also claim that an unnamed Chinese side offered the Liga NOS club £16million to sign Elis in January but the bid was unsuccessful.
Another striker
It is starting to seem like any striker who has scored in the past six months is a target for West Ham right now.
To be fair, they did try a number of moves in January themselves to no avail so they may well take whoever they can get their hands on when the summer rolls around.

Elis might be a decent option if the big-money stars opt against a switch to the London Stadium having had a very unorthodox route throughout his career so far.
He began at Olimpia in his native Honduras before heading to Mexico (Monterrey), the USA (Houston Dynamo), Portugal (Boavista) and now France (Bordeaux).
This might not be high on David Moyes’ concerns when he looks at Elis as a player but his ability to quickly adapt to a new country and, at times, a new continent is something to be admired.
In other West Ham news, Moyes has confirmed the absence of one of his star players for Sunday’s game against Aston Villa.
