West Ham want to sign Adama Traore in January - report
West Ham want to sign Adama Traore in a £20million move from Wolves in January, with David Moyes an admirer according to The Telegraph.
The 25-year-old has featured regularly for Wolves this season but is yet to register a goal or assist for Bruno Lage’s side.
That form has seen the Midlands side open the door to a potential transfer out of the club, alerting the likes of West Ham to the possibility of getting a deal done in the January transfer window.
The Spain international has entered the final 18 months of his deal and according to The Telegraph, £20m would be enough to convince Wolves to do business mid-season.
They name West Ham boss Moyes as an ‘admirer’ of his talents and say that the money from Traore’s sale would allow Wolves to strengthen their own squad during the transfer window.
Explosive
Traore’s lack of productivity in the final third is an issue, but someone with attributes like his is always going to be a threat in games.
The former Barcelona academy man has been described as ‘unplayable‘ in the past by Graeme Souness [GOAL], and his incredible speed and dribbling ability would fit in perfectly in Moyes’ side.
Playing on either wing or even through the middle, he would be able to lead the line with his speed proving a vital counter-attacking threat.
He is used to playing in a defensive setup, and has previously been the key man in wins against ‘big six’ sides for Wolves because of his directness.
An attack containing Traore, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio would cause any defence in the world some big problems and at a cut-price £20m there are worse signings the Hammers could make.
