West Ham want to sign 17 y/o Jordan James from Birmingham City
West Ham United want to sign Birmingham City midfielder Jordan James this summer but face competition from a handful of other Premier League sides.
According to Football League World, Everton, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Brighton and Southampton are all in the race for the 17-year-old along with the Irons and a move this summer seems to be increasingly likely.
He has already featured 17 times for Blues’ first team this season and he even scored his first goal for the club in their 2-2 draw with Stoke City last month.

He signed a new long term deal for Birmingham, who are managed by ex-Hamer Lee Bowyer, very recently but that won’t deter the financial power of the Premier League from pursuing a deal.
Future Declan Rice
James is more adept at being the more advanced of a midfield duo or even trio but his box-to-box abilities are shining through.
He is still some way off Premier League level and he may be a year or more away from being there, but it is worth risking it for the potential he possesses.
The Hammers could be resigned to losing their vice-captain and star midfielder Declan Rice in the summer if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

James is maybe the replacement they require, even if it won’t be immediate, and given two years, he could be just as good if not better than Rice is right now.
David Moyes has to put his trust in the player to come good after a period of time and believe in the process despite a potential downturn in form next season.
In other West Ham news, Michael Owen has made his prediction ahead of the Irons’ FA Cup tie against Southampton.
