West Ham want to sign £15m-rated Maxwel Cornet
West Ham have reportedly entered the race to sign Lyon winger Maxwel Cornet and are considering making a late bid to sign him.
According to 90Min, Burnley have tabled a club record fee of £15million for the 24-year-old and are willing to make him their highest earner.
The Hammers have been linked with a few left-backs this summer, and with Newcastle, may swoop in with a late offer to sign the Ivory Coast international.

Would be a good signing
Cornet has seen an evolution in his career as he’s gone from being a goal-hungry attacking player to a full-back who enjoys running up and down the pitch.
Thus far, his most memorable performance is the one on 28 Nov 2018 against Manchester City in the Champions League.
He scored both goals in their 2-2 draw against Pep Guardiola’s men and scored another one in the reverse fixture, which led to him receive the praise of the City manager.
“I was very impressed by the talent of Maxwel Cornet,” he said. [RMC Sport]
Since his switch to left-back, goals have come at a premium but he continues to influence games and carries a threat going forward.
Burnley aren’t the most financially well off clubs in the Premier League so we can match their offer for the player, we can surely negotiate better personal terms with him to tempt him to move to the London Stadium.
We’ve also got Europa League football and an ageing left-back in Aaron Cresswell who’ll need replacing soon, so it makes perfect sense for us to sign Cornet this summer.
