West Ham want Real Madrid left-back Miguel Gutierrez on loan
West Ham United have held talks with Real Madrid over a season-long loan move for left-back Miguel Gutierrez, according to Daily Star.
Hammers manager David Moyes wants to bolster his defence for the new campaign, and Madrid are open to letting the 19-year-old leave Santiago Bernabeu temporarily in order for him to play regular football.
Gutierrez was also on the radar of Arsenal and Leeds United recently, with Manchester United making a move for him a couple of years ago.
West Ham could now receive a boost in their pursuit, as those close to him suggest he would be interested in a move to the Premier League.
We need a left-back
Aaron Cresswell had a decent campaign for us last term, assisting more Premier League goals (eight) than any West Ham player.
The 31-year-old is expected to retain his starting berth in the position for the new season, but he needs another quality competition and cover, given the additional fixtures of the Europa League.
When fit, Arthur Masuaku has been solid, but the young Gutierrez could come in to give the duo a run for their money.
He is highly rated at Real Madrid and could be a decent addition for West Ham.
