West Ham want Leeds United attacker Raphinha

West Ham could make a huge late move to test Leeds United’s resolve over Raphinha in the coming days, according to 90min.

The Hammers want to strengthen their attack, and a bid for the Brazil international attacker, 25, could be tabled before Monday’s deadline.

The Elland Road outfit’s desire to hold on to Raphinha could now come under test by West Ham in the coming hours.

Chance?

West Ham will be making an ambitious and audacious move by going after Raphinha, and it will be interesting to see how much they offer Leeds.

Given how their campaign has gone, Marcelo Bielsa’s side cannot afford to cash in on a player who has scored eight Premier League goals and weighed in with two assists for them.

The Brazilian is the major reason Leeds are still not in a relegation battle, and losing him with a few days left in the window will be a massive blow.

Given his huge quality, Raphinha can surely help West Ham finish in the top-four and even end 2021-22 with silverware.

The Hammers will be offering him the chance to end the campaign playing European football, but he is unlikely to be willing to make such a move right now.

He still has until the summer of 2024 before the contract he signed after his £17million arrival from Rennes in the summer of 2020 expires, putting Leeds in a comfortable position.

All that could change in the summer, though, and the Irons could return with a bid if they are not successful with the one they plan to table this month.
