West Ham unlikely to sign Roco Rees this summer – ExWHUEmployee
West Ham are unlikely to sign on-trial goalkeeper Roco Rees, having agreed a deal to bring Brian Kinnear to the London Stadium this summer, per ExWHUEmployee.
Rees, who only recently got released from Brighton, was on trial at West Ham along with Kinnear, but did not impress David Moyes or the Hammers coaches over the former Rangers goalkeeper.
The 19-year-old is a boyhood Hammers fan and would have been keen on joining the club he’s been supporting for over a decade.

Let’s give Kinnear a chance
Kinnear looks all set to move to West Ham this summer, and there is some excitement as he is a highly-rated young goalkeeper who’s also been capped for the Scotland U-21 side.
He was one of a number of young players to be released from the Rangers side at the end of last season, and their loss seems to be our gain as we’ve signed a 20-year-old who still has the rest of his career ahead of him.
Initially, he’s expected to join the U-23s where he’ll polish his skills and play in the Premier League 2 before eventually moving to the first team.
With Lukasz Fabianski already 36, he’ll be needing replacing soon and the club are already in the hunt for an established senior first-team goalkeeper.

Once Fabianski parts ways with the club or retires from the game, Kinnear could be ready to take the step up and play backup to the goalkeeper we end up signing this summer.
While it would’ve been good to have a Hammers fan in Rees on board, we understand that the club makes decisions based on merit on not emotion.
Should Rees impress in the future, our scouts will certainly be looking at him in a bid to tempt him to move to East London.
