West Ham United’s London Stadium to host National League playoff final
West Ham United’s London Stadium is set to play host to its first competitive final as the National League playoffs end at the home of the Irons.
In previous years, Wembley has been the finishing line for the six clubs behind the champions chasing promotion to the Football League but that deal has ended.
The organisers were keen to keep the final in the capital and the West Ham board have helped to allow the highest standard of non-league football in the world have the stage it deserves.
“It is a fantastic sporting arena with a rich history and very befitting of our showpiece Promotion Final,” The League General Manager Mark Ives said.
“Whilst we don’t know who will get to the Promotion Final yet, what we can now promise is a stadium worthy of hosting such a huge game.”
Sign of things to come
We all know that the London Stadium cost an extremely large amount of money and it’s going to take some of these big events to pay that off.
So this move might not be the last we see in the next few years and we should be delighted to see our ground being chosen for games of such magnitude.

Maybe the National League playoff final isn’t your cup of tea but anyone who has watched it will know that it is one of the best domestic games all season more often than not.
With Wembley taking on more NFL games among other events, we could even see the London Stadium become a second home for football in this country.
Non-league finals day, EFL playoffs, maybe even some England games could be played on the turf of our home and that could be just the tip of the iceberg the further we go down the line.
In other West Ham news, a club insider has shared what they’ve been told about the Irons’ pursuit of this attacking midfielder in the transfer market.
