West Ham United would be perfect fit for ‘tidy’ Armando Broja – Glen Johnson

This summer is perhaps one of the most important in recent years for West Ham United and the club need to bring in the right players to succeed.

The most obvious area where David Moyes needs to bring in at least one new face is at striker where Michail Antonio has been the sole number nine at the club since Sebastian Heller left for Ajax.

One name who has been thrown around as a potential new addition to the side at the London Stadium is Armando Broja who impressed on loan at Southampton from Chelsea last term.

Glen Johnson sees the 20-year-old Albanian as the perfect fit for West Ham and thinks Moyes has to make efforts to bring him to Rush Green from Stamford Bridge.

“He fits the profile of a striker that West Ham should be looking to sign,” Johnson said to bettingodds.com. “He’s been scoring goals in the Premier League and looks like a tidy finisher.

“They definitely need a natural goalscorer in their squad and if West Ham had an out and out goalscorer in their side this season then that could have made the difference.”

Why the wait?

Broja’s name has been floating around the club for ages now and all of these constant rumours and comments are all irrelevant if we don’t try and do anything about it.

If he is a player that the boss likes the look of, then why aren’t the board starting to get the wheels turning on a deal with Chelsea before any other side swoops in and jumps the queue we’ve been in for a while.

The longer we wait, the more it would seem that Moyes is not entirely sold on the Albanian international and if we do decide to pull out, it is only going to come back and haunt us, maybe as soon as the 2022-23 season.

The Saints would surely welcome him back with open arms after he hit a real purple patch at the mid-point of the campaign and should he return to St Mary’s you can almost guarantee he’ll score against us at some stage at which point, Moyes will have to swallow his pride and admit he was wrong.

In other West Ham news, we have to be ready to pounce if we want to sign this in-form striker from the French divisions.
