West Ham United ‘working hard’ to sign Spezia ace M’Bala Nzola as ‘excellent’ agent news emerges
West Ham are “working hard” to sign Spezia striker M’Bala Nzola, whose agents have “excellent relations” with the Hammers, according to Calciomercato.
The Italian publication reported on its website on Thursday (2 August) that while there is “work to be done” on the deal, the “forcing” has already started.
The 26-year-old Angola international scored 15 goals in all competitions last season as Spezia were relegated to Serie B.

West Ham are “working hard” to try and bring Nzola to the club, according to Calciomercato.
The publication continued by noting that Serie A side Fiorentina are in “pole position” for his signature, but the “excellent relations of Nzola’s agents with the Hammers (they already have Ogbonna in their squad) and the possibility of playing in the Premier League and Europa League tickle the ambition of the player. There is work to be done but the forcing has already started.”

Making moves
Most of the talk surrounding the Hammers in the summer transfer window has focused on a new defensive midfielder following Declan Rice’s £105million move to Arsenal.
And Hammers fans will be hugely frustrated that their club have not replaced their beloved former captain.
But this latest development regarding Spezia ace Nzola will be welcomed with open arms, particularly given how Gianluca Scamacca looks certain to leave the London Stadium this summer.
The Italian international is seemingly closing in on a return to Serie A, meaning there will be a gap that will need to be filled in the final third in East London.
Moreover, the futures of Michail Antonio and Danny Ings up in the air, with youngster Divin Mubama seemingly the only striker who is safe in claret and blue for now.
Goals will be needed if the Hammers are to have success in all competitions, and they could certainly do a lot worse than a player who banged in 15 goals last time out, particularly for a struggling club.
