West Ham United won’t financially back David Moyes in January amid poor Premier League form
David Moyes will not have much financial clout in the January transfer window amid West Ham United’s poor form, according to The Telegraph.
The club’s board are not in a position to throw even more money at the situation having spent heavily in the summer on a number of big-name additions which were supposed to keep the Hammers near the European places.
But results on home soil have been way below the standard required which has put pressure on Moyes’ position despite a perfect run in the Europa Conference League.

West Ham remain behind the manager and won’t be sacking him in the immediate future but with such a big spend in the summer, they can’t provide him with the transfer budget he may desire in January.
Friday’s (30 December) defeat at home to Brentford saw the Irons’ position become even more precarious with the rest of the relegation candidates yet to play this weekend.
Borrowed time
Moyes may have worked wonders over the past two or three seasons at the London Stadium but every era has to come to an end at some point and this feels like it for the Scotsman.

He has taken the club to new heights with back-to-back European campaigns but it was always going to be tough to keep that form up for a third straight campaign with Newcastle’s riches catapulting them up the Premier League.
But even with the Magpies’ rise, West Ham have still not been good enough this season and it can only be one or two defeats until the trigger has to be pulled and Moyes sent packing.
There should be no issues with finding a very good replacement given the squad at Rush Green and the biggest club stadium in London but David Gold, David Sullivan and Daniel Kretinsky will have to move very quick to make it happen.
