West Ham United Women’s expert wowed by Mackenzie Arnold after international heroics
We’re delighted to welcome Michelle Irons as our exclusive West Ham Women expert. Each week she’ll be giving her views on the biggest talking points at Victoria Road…
West Ham United Women’s expert Michelle Irons was full of praise for Mackenzie Arnold after the keeper featured for Australia against England.
The Three Lions’ 30-game unbeaten run finally came to an end against the Matildas, with the West Ham shot-stopper registering an impressive clean sheet.
Irons was blown away by the keeper’s performance against Sarina Wiegman’s side and has backed her to have an impressive World Cup in July.

“Mackenzie Arnold or “Super Mac” as she’s known performed brilliantly against England for Australia in an organised friendly before the World Cup in July,” Irons exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“What a season she is having at West Ham. She is so reliable with her commanding nature and her natural ability to recognise danger in the box.
“Her height is a huge advantage as well as her positioning and reflexes. She is a natural leader and connects with her backline very well.

“The chemistry she has with Fisk and Kirsty Smith is a testament to her character and she is our number one for the foreseeable I hope.
“Congratulations to her country hosting this year’s World Cup and she is nailed on to be starting Australia’s opening game with the Republic of Ireland.”
Arnold will be hoping to continue her impressive international form into the Hammers’ WSL campaign which has badly faltered in recent weeks.
