West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen who Jose Enrique wants Liverpool to sign
After having such a sensational 2021-22 season, West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen is turning heads among some of England’s elite clubs.
The 25-year-old scored 12 times in the Premier League with another 12 assists to his name to finish with more goal contributions than any Englishman with the exception of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
He has been rewarded with his first England call-up and subsequent start against Hungary and it would be a surprise if he wasn’t the subject of interest from some of the country’s biggest clubs.
Liverpool could be one of those who might try to tempt him away from the London Stadium and former Reds defender Jose Enrique wants Jurgen Klopp to go all out for the Irons man.
When asked who he would like to see his former side spend their transfer budget on this summer on Twitter, the Spaniard pointed out Bowen and Benfica striker Darwin Nunez who was briefly linked with a switch to Rush Green in January [Dharmesh Sheth].
Too soon
As good as Bowen has been in the past 12 months, a big-money move to a team like Liverpool is probably one year too soon right now.
No matter how ‘massive’ we like to suggest we are, our club is not at the same level as the Reds and we have to accept that we could easily lose one of our stars to Anfield if terms are agreed between all parties.

But we need Bowen to realise that it was only last season that he was a real star and he needs to stay at the London Stadium and prove that he is no one-season wonder.
With Mohamed Salah being the undisputed first choice on the right-wing for Klopp’s double-winning side, he might not get anywhere near the game time he needs at this stage in his career but the Egyptian may not stay at Anfield for much longer so he could happily spend another year here, playing every week, and then move if he wants to next summer.
In other West Ham news, David Moyes has added another name to his very long list of strikers he will contemplate signing and this one scored double-figures last season.
