West Ham United will let Conor Coventry leave club in January
West Ham United midfielder Conor Coventry will be allowed to leave the club in the January transfer window, according to a report from The Athletic.
Coventry has managed just one substitute appearance in the Premier League so far. He has further made three starts in cup games, and it is becoming increasingly clear that he is not in David Moyes’ plans.
There could be more departures in January as the Hammers are expected to entertain loan offers for academy prospects Jamal Baptiste and Pierre Ekwah Elimby.

Departures
Coventry has progressed through the youth ranks at the club but he has made only 10 appearances since making his senior debut in 2018.
He is a hardworking midfielder who plays for the club with pride and passion. The 22-year-old is definitely good enough to play for the Hammers, but Moyes can’t give him regular game time at the moment.
The likes of Declan Rice, Lucas Paqueta, Tomas Soucek and Flynn Downes are all ahead of him in the West Ham United pecking order.
Even if Rice and Soucek leave the club next summer, it won’t make any big difference for Coventry.

He is a talented midfielder and shouldn’t waste his career on the bench. He deserves to join a club where he will get regular chances, and a move away from the club looks likely.
Ideally, he should look to join a Premier League side, but even a step down to the Championship won’t be a bad option. The future of Harrison Ashby is also in doubt. The young right-back is entering the final year of his contract and he is yet to sign a new agreement.
