West Ham United want to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest
West Ham United want to sign Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White this summer, according to talkSPORT.
Writing on their website (21 March), the news outlet report that Forest could be forced to sell players this summer amid their recent points deduction for breaking PSR rules.
Gibbs-White is considered one of the club’s most valuable assets and could be sold, with Tottenham also interested in a deal for the England Under-21 star.
“Tottenham and West Ham among the clubs keeping tabs on Nottingham Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White,” they wrote.
“Forest face being forced to sell players this summer to avoid being hit with further penalties for breaking profit and sustainability rules.”
Lucas Paqueta replacement for West Ham United?
West Ham right now don’t have a particular need for a new attacking midfielder considering they have Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta all capable of playing there to a high level.
But there is plenty of speculation that Paqueta is set to be a target for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City, which could make the summer transfer window really difficult.
The Brazil star has an £85m release clause in his contract that becomes active this summer, and that would mean the Hammers are powerless to prevent him leaving is someone matches it.

If that were to happen that would leave the club in a position where they have money to spend and a position to fill, and someone like Gibbs-White would fit the bill perfectly.
Garth Crooks has previously labelled him as “extraordinary” and he’s only getting better, has experience in the league and has shone in a team weaker than the Hammers. Bringing him in would be a real statement of intent and keep the team strong, so this is one to keep an eye on for sure.
In other West Ham news, one Hammers star was one hour away from signing for Chelsea.
