West Ham United want to sign £77m-valued duo Sofyan Amrabat and Moises Caicedo
West Ham United want to sign Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat and Brighton’s Moises Caicedo to bolster their midfield options, according to The Daily Mirror.
The Daily Mail reported (16 December, page 76) that the Hammers were keeping an eye on 26-year-old Amrabat after his World Cup heroics for Morocco.
Caicedo, 21, is viewed as a long-term alternative to Declan Rice, with the West Ham captain’s future in doubt (Daily Mail, 20 December).

The Mirror (23 Dec, page 53) has since reported that the pair are on David Moyes’ wishlist, with Amrabat valued at £35million and Caicedo at £42million.
Dream big
It’s fair to say these two signings may only happen if Rice leaves the London Stadium. The 23-year-old’s future has been a talking point and it does seem like 2023 could be the year when he finally decides to leave the London Stadium.
Amrabat and Caicedo would both be superb additions, with the Brighton midfielder showing he’s one of the brightest prospects in the Premier League in the 2022/23 season. He’s been the Seagulls’ main man in the heart of their midfield and a big part of their success.

If Rice does depart, the Hammers suddenly look extremely thin in the central midfield area. Amrabat would be an interesting signing after his superb form for Morocco in Qatar. However, he’s unproven in the Premier League and would be somewhat of an unknown quantity should he depart Fiorentina.
His physical and combative play certainly has the potential to be well-suited to the Premier League and would make him a popular figure with fans.
