West Ham United: David Moyes shares views on Europa League draw
Sky Sports reporter James Green has shared what West Ham boss David Moyes has had to say on the Europa League last-16 draw.
The Irons were paired with Freiburg in Friday’s (23 February) draw from Nyon, with that two-legged tie to be played in early March.
Moyes’ men are competing in the knockout stages of European competition for a third season in a row.
Speaking live from Rush Green on Sky Sports News [23 February, 3:53pm], Green shared Moyes’ “immediate reaction” to the draw.
Moyes said: “The good thing about it is we’re playing European football after Christmas for the third year running.
“When you get this far you want to get to the next round. We’ve had a brilliant few years in Europe and will enjoy this one as well.”
West Ham to face Freiburg in Europa League last 16
Freiburg are by no means easy opponents, but West Ham have already defeated them twice in this season’s group stage.
Opta Analyst recently gave Freiburg a 0.2-per-cent chance of winning the competition, albeit before their knockout-round play-off match, compared to a 4.6-per-cent likelihood chance for United.
Every tie in the knockout stages of this tournament comes with its difficulties, though, and this will be no exception.
Whether you want him to stay or go, Moyes has given West Ham fans plenty of happy memories in Europe – not least last June.

The Irons look well suited to knockout football on the continent, and this tie presents a good opportunity to reach another quarter-final.
Never before have the club reached three successive European quarter-final ties, so some history could be made over the next few weeks.
And if Moyes can navigate us beyond the last eight, he will have further ammunition as to why he should stay on at London Stadium.
In other West Ham news, the Irons are reportedly eyeing up a move for a player from a rival club.
