West Ham United update emerges on Yuri Alberto amid bid claims

Sources close to West Ham deny learning a price that will be sufficient to sign Yuri Alberto from Corinthians, according to Claret and Hugh.

The reliable Hammers news website claimed on Wednesday (30 August) that reports of £21.5million being enough to sign the 22-year-old are not true while some reports state that a bid has also been tabled.

The report reads, “A Hammers source told Claret and Hugh that was news to them saying: ‘We have heard nothing of the sort’.”

Move on?

It may be time for the Hammers to move on from the pursuit of Alberto.

It does not seem like they’re as interested or their quest is as advanced to sign the Brazilian striker.

While it is well documented that they need a new striker after Gianluca Scamacca’s exit and Danny Ings is expected to leave too, Alberto may just not be that one.

West Ham

It should not be doom and gloom for Hammers fans as he’s not proven himself outside the South American continent.

Hopefully, they find someone from Europe’s top five leagues as that’ll be a huge boost to David Moyes’ side.

Time is running out so they’ve got to move quickly for a new striker and Tim Steidten needs to bring out his shortlist and get the deals over the line.

In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open to leaving his side this summer.
