West Ham United ‘unrest’ on the cards as fans lose patience with David Moyes

David Moyes failing to get a result for West Ham against Nottingham Forest this weekend could cause “serious unrest” at the London Stadium, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Hammers boss has come under mounting scrutiny and criticism in recent weeks, as the club find themselves currently in the relegation places with just 20 points from 23 games.

The Daily Mail [20 February] reported that Moyes will be expected to take charge against Nottingham Forest following several calls for him to be sacked and ex-Eurosport journalist Jones says fans could become increasingly toxic if they don’t win on Saturday.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, he said: “It is a pretty big game for him; I mean, most fans have had enough at this point of watching West Ham under David Moyes. They think he’s too negative, they’re bored of seeing the same errors played out time and again.

“I think a defeat to Nottingham Forest and there’s going to be some serious unrest here, there is already a lot of agitated people.”

Huge game

Saturday’s contest is a huge game for West Ham, and especially for David Moyes. The tense nature is certainly going to be felt at the London Stadium considering the club’s dreadful position in the table and the fact that they desperately need a win.

The Hammers haven’t tasted victory in the league since the end of January, and have recorded only one win since the World Cup which represents such dreadful form.

It is quite shocking to find the club in such a position, considering the amount of money spent last summer and the bags of quality Moyes possesses in his weaponry. It is no wonder the former Everton boss is facing an unhappy camp both within his squad and amongst fans at the London Stadium.

A loss or even a draw could prove very damning to his chances of staying on as Hammers boss. A huge huge game for Moyes.
